Global trends meet local flavors: Unilever Food Solutions “Indulge in Future Menus” event inspires over 150 culinary professionals in Sri Lanka

Celebrating World Chefs Day 2024, Unilever Food Solutions (UFS), the Food Service business of Unilever Sri Lanka recently held the event “Indulge in Future Menus” that was held at Cinnamon Grand Colombo and hosted over 150 culinary professionals in the island.      

The event had two clear objectives: First, it displayed UFS’s dedication to develop Sri Lanka’s culinary landscape by bringing global knowledge and innovation to the local kitchens. Furthermore, the event was a platform to introduce the newly launched Knorr Coconut Milk Powder and the “Future Menus” trends that have been ideated by the Global UFS business.

Chef Evert Vermandel, Lead Innovation Chef at the Unilever Global Innovation Centre was the keynote speaker at the event. Chef Vermandel’s speech on “Future Menus” trends offered valuable insights into global culinary movements and creative techniques that can motivate chefs in Sri Lanka.      

The renowned Hospitality Consultant and Senior Lecturer, Chef Sudusinghe Chandrasena conducted a session on Knorr Coconut Milk Powder. Chef Chandrasena, popular for his strong proficiency in the cuisine of Sri Lanka, demonstrated the functionality of this new product. He highlighted the possibility of strengthening both contemporary and traditional dishes, while global UFS chefs offered their insights and support, highlighting the standard and value of the Knorr Coconut Milk Powder.
