Organised by Killer Whale Aquatics (KWA), the event brought together over 600 young athletes who competed across multiple disciplines. The competition saw Akitha Bandara emerge as Boys Champion and Wanditha Palapawala as Girls Champion.

SwimAmerica, the official learn-to-swim school system of the American Swimming Coaches Association (ASCA), is globally recognised for fostering excellence in aquatic education and competition. This year’s gala not only celebrated the talent of young swimmers but also carried a meaningful purpose, with all proceeds directed to the KWA Foundation. Established in 2024, the foundation supports underprivileged swimmers by funding scholarships, grants, educational workshops, and providing access to world-class training facilities and equipment.

Through this sponsorship, First Capital carried a powerful message, showing that ‘growth isn’t a race with others, it’s with yourself’.  This ethos of strength, discipline and personal growth strongly resonated with the athletes and reinforces the fact that excellence is achieved by competing against one’s own limits, both in the pool and in life.

As a highlight of the event, First Capital hosted the exciting ‘Olympic Lung Challenge: a hold-your-breath competition which featured Olympian Kyle Abeysinghe’. This challenge inspired swimmers and spectators alike and created a memorable experience that balanced fun with a message of determination and perseverance.
