People’s Leasing & Finance PLC (PLC), a leading non-bank financial institution and a subsidiary of People’s Bank in Sri Lanka, expanded its branch network by opening its 111th branch on November 4, 2025, at No. 44, Kelin Veediya, Eheliyagoda.

The opening ceremony was graced by the presence of a distinguished gathering, including People’s Leasing Chairman Professor Ajanta Samarakoon, Chief Executive Officer/General Manager Sanjeewa Bandaranayake, members of the company’s senior management, branch staff, officials from state institutions and customers. The event was conducted in a grand and spectacular manner.

Due to the economic slowdowns faced by Sri Lanka stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic, People’s Leasing had previously limited its business expansion activities. However, with the positive growth currently observed across all sectors economic, social, sustainable development and other sectors in Sri Lanka, People’s Leasing, as a responsible financial institution and with the vision of its new management, has launched numerous projects to expand its services and business operations. Expanding its islandwide branch network is noted as one of the key initiatives.

In line with this, the Eheliyagoda branch marks a milestone in the branch network expansion programme. It is the first branch to be opened after many years, inaugurated on November 4. This opening will pave the way for the public in the Eheliyagoda area to fulfil their financial service needs under one roof, offering more efficient, friendly and convenient financial facilities along with a trustworthy service.

A wide range of financial facilities offered by People’s Leasing & Finance PLC, including leasing, vehicle loans, fixed deposits, savings accounts opening, gold loans and Islamic finance facilities, can also be obtained through the Eheliyagoda branch.

For nearly three decades, People’s Leasing has operated as a responsible financial citizen, contributing to the upliftment of the living standards of the Sri Lankan populace by increasing the financial inclusion of small, medium, and large-scale enterprises as well as the public through its network of 111 branches spread across the island. This effort clearly reflects People’s Leasing’s contribution to the sustainable development of both the economic and social facets of our country.
